It was a beautiful day at SBR Motorsports Park for Round #3 of ROK The Rockies. Drivers and teams were concerned of an impending afternoon storm, however mother nature spared the kart track from any rain throughout the day’s events! Folks attending the event lined the pit lane fence to watch all of the action on track and Race Monitor was streaming live timing and results for all to see. The race day held 5 competitive classes of karts, and the on track sessions consisted of morning warm up, qualifying, two pre-finals and a final event.

Some of the more exciting action on track took place in the 100cc group (which is comprised of Master and Senior drivers). Multiple position changes were exchanged between Jett Rotunda and Daniel Stein in the pre-finals and main event. Leo Kosman was running strong and able to contend with the Senior drivers throughout the day. Georg Bower is now competing in the 100cc class (moved from Senior Rok) and also had a great showing! In the Mini ROK class we saw great racing action between Zach Olsen and Alexander Gevorkyan throughout the main event. The two drivers became tangled up in an incident that would allow Zach Olsen to come through victorious in the final. Zander De Priest ran a strong through the day and ended up 2nd for Mini ROK.

The remaining classes on track performed through the day’s races with minimal passes and position changes, however showed great consistency in their driving, and strong, clean race starts. SBR Motorsports Park and ROK The Rockies would like to especially thank our series sponsors for their support in the 2019 racing season; thank you to Bridgestone, Napa Auto Parts, and Premier RV. We will see everyone at Round #4 of the ROK The Rockies race series on July 21st, 2019 only at SBR Motorsports Park!
